Full name: Johan Andersen soul of the rainbow dragonWARNING! SEMI-SPOILERS! Johan Andersen is a character first introduced in season 3 of Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and the most important of the four new exchange students (Amon Garam, Austin O'Brien, Jim Crocodile Cook) from different academies. Johan hails from North Academy, with the status of champion, a duelist ranked as #5 in Maximillion Pegasus' "Top 5 Finest Duelists" and the only duelist known to own the legendary Crystal Beasts (Jewels, Gems, what have you) deck, and keep in mind, the deck chose him to be their owner. Like Judai, he shares a close bond with his deck, and communicates with his monsters when they're on the field, though the duel spirit closest to him, it seems, is Ruby Carbuncle. Also like Judai, he has the same philosophy about dueling: It's all about having fun, and feeling the thrill and excitement of how the duel goes, and that winning isn't everything. Johan has a personality that's very similar to Judai's - he's energetic, happy-go-lucky, very passionate about his dueling, optimistic, a rarely ever wears a frown. He's only similar to Judai. There's one fact about him that sets him apart: He has a certain level of seriousness. Let's face it, Judai is an oblivious dork who can't take alot of things seriously (except for his friends), but Johan? Johan knows when something serious is going on, and acts courageously on it. That would be the only difference. But, you could almost see Johan as the main character of the show for some reason. Or maybe that's just me?As for his deck, it's really one of a kind. Yes, everyone's deck in GX is one of a kind, but his.. his monsters are really attached to him. You can tell from his duels that he cares deeply for them, and they work hard for him in exchange. The special thing about his deck is that none of his monsters can ever really be sent to the graveyard - they just turn into little pretty jewels and sit pretty until they're all summoned to combine into one thing: The Rainbow Dragon - Johan's best card (though, in the beginning, he doesn't actually have it). That's really about it you should know about Johan, without the scary spoilers after Zombie!Academia. He's Judai's new best friend, go figure. He also has a weird American dubbed voice. He went from feminine VA to, southern accent? This section will be expanded in the future, so look out for these sections:
